PURPOSE
The purpose of this amendment to Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) 17-02.01 between the City and Urban Drainage and Flood Control District is to provide further funding for the ongoing maintenance of the City of Brighton South Drainage Outfall. Through the conditions of the IGA amendment, the City will provide Fifty Thousand dollars ($50,000) in additional funding to perform the maintenance.
BACKGROUND
The City entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD) in March of 2017 under which both the City and UDFCD provided funding for the maintenance of the City's South Outfall. Stormwater runoff from the major Prairie Center Development and other locations in the City is carried to the South Platte River through the City's South Drainage Outfall. The culvert under Sable Boulevard and the downstream outfall channel has become silted in. The accumulation of silt does not allow for the passage of stormwater back to the South Platter River as designed.
