PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval of a formal solicitation for the Parking Lot Maintenance Projects to the most responsive and responsible bidder, and approving the resolution giving the Mayor authority to sign the contract. Municipal Code Section 3.08.090, ". . . . All bids and proposals in excess of $50,000 shall be awarded through formal written procedures by the city council."
BACKGROUND
Due to the age of the parking lots and the effect of expansive soils the following three (3) parking lots are in need of routine maintenance.
Eagle View Adult Rec Center - 1150 Prairie Center Pkwy
City Hall - 500 S. 4th Avenue
Police Building - 3401 E. Bromley
One (1) formal bid was received on May 17, 2018 at 3:00 PM.
The bid received was opened and read into the record by Procurement & Contracts at a public bid opening.
Several companies expressed interest in the Parking Lot Maintenance Projects; only one company submitted a bid. That company is Vance Brothers, Inc. Reference checks were conducted on Vance Brothers, Inc. with favorable responses.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Sufficient funding was approved in the 2018 budget for the Parking Lot Maintenance Projects. The bid from Vance Brothers, Inc. is within the budgeted amount.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
