BACKGROUND

City Council previously adopted Resolution No. 03-14 establishing a policy for park naming ("Park Naming Policy"). The City Clerk has received one park naming petition for the naming of the neighborhood park located in Tract N of the Brighton East Farms Subdivision ("Petition"). The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board ("Board") has reviewed the Petition and determined it has met all the requirements of the Park Naming Policy.

The Board held a public meeting on December 5, 2018, to solicit additional input on the proposed name. At the meeting, the Board unanimously approved a motion to recommend to the City Council that the neighborhood park in the Brighton East Farms Tract N Subdivision located at 4699 Haystack Lane, Brighton, Colorado, be named "Harvest Park".

Andrielle Salazar, a neighbor of the park, organized a neighborhood naming process. The neighbors suggested names and selected Harvest Park as the preferred name. Ms. Salazar and her daughters passed the petition in the neighborhood and presented the petition at the Board Meeting.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The City has budgeted $12,000 in the 2019 Parks and Recreation Capital Budget to install a park identification sign in the Park. The funds are in the Park Fees for the Brighton East Farms Parks.
