PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval of a formal bid for the Park Improvements to the most responsive and responsible bidder, and approving the resolution giving the City Manager authority to sign the contract. Pursuant to Municipal Code Section 3-8-90, all bids and proposals in excess of $50,000.00 shall be awarded through formal bid procedures by the City Council.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
The project work, collectively situated at Colorado Park, Ken Mitchell Park, Sister Cities Park and Veterans Park, consists of completing basketball courts, clearing and grubbing, demolition and removal, erosion control grading, concrete, asphalt, a bridge, landscaping restoration, and all other work associated to complete the project, where any items not specifically identified are considered inherent to the work.
Two (2) formal bids were received on September 30, 2019 at 10:00 AM. The bids were opened and read into the record by the Procurement Specialist at a public bid opening.
The two (2) firms submitting bids are:
Arrow J Landscape & Design, Inc.
A.D. Miller Services Inc.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Sufficient funding was approved in the budget for the Park Improvements. The bid from Arrow J Landscape & Design Inc. of $664,752.50 is within the budgeted amount for the project.
