PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval for the Park Lighting Improvements Project to the solicited Single Source vendor, and approving the resolution giving the City Manager authority to sign the contract. Pursuant to Municipal Code Section 3-8-90, and except as otherwise provided in the Article, all bids and proposals in excess of $50,000.00 shall be awarded by the City Council.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
This project will address recreation amenities lighting in two separate parks: Ken Mitchell Park and Colorado Park. Both projects have been highly requested by residents and are funded by Adams County Open Space grant funding and City of Brighton 2019 Recreation Capital Projects Budget (GL# & Project Codes: 26-17-4520-72001 - 19014 and 32-17-4500-72150 - 19030).
One (1) Single Source Proposal was solicited and received in September 2019.
The one (1) firm requested to participate is:
Musco Sports Lighting, LLC d/b/a Musco Corporation
* The City of Brighton has been utilizing Musco lighting since 1998
* Musco lighting is installed at all of our sports field and court locations that are currently lit
* These Musco lights have a 25 year materials and labor warranty eliminating 100% of maintenance costs for 25 years
* Musco offers their trademarked Control-Link system that allows remote on/off control and performance monitoring with 24/7 customer support
