PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval of formal solicitation for project #21-006839 to the most responsive and responsible bidder, and approving the resolution giving the City Manager, or Designee, authority to sign the contract.  Municipal Code Section 3.08.090, “…All bids and proposals in excess of $50,000 shall be awarded through formal written procedures by the City Council.”

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

The Storm Drainage Utility purchased approximately 10 acres at 118th & Peoria to be used for future a detention pond once the 120th Outfall is constructed. There are two houses on the property, one is boarded up and the other was leased for the past few years. The structures will need to be demolished when the City is ready to move forward with development of the detention pond. The lease on the rented house expired, and the houses are in disrepair. At an executive session earlier this year, staff discussed the status of this expired lease and condition of the property with City Council.  Staff received direction to pursue demolition and bring forward a contract to a future City Council meeting for formal vote on the demolition contract.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Sufficient appropriation exists for the project.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council approve the request to issue an award to All Star Environmental as the lowest most responsive and responsible proposer.
