To provide background on metropolitan districts and the process they must use when seeking to condemn property for a public purpose

BACKGROUND

 

Metropolitan District Brighton Crossing Number 7 has requested City Council approval for the use of its eminent domain powers. The City Attorney’s Office will present on the statutory authority for the use of eminent domain by metropolitan districts. This presentation is intended to provide the legal background for the request that will be presented by Brighton Crossing No. 7 on January 18, 2022.
