STRATEGIC FOCUS AREA:

Financially Responsible

Strategic, Supportable Infrastructure

Sustainability

Innovative, Data-Driven, Results-Focused Government

BACKGROUND:

BHA approached the City of Brighton for a partnership in applying for the DOLA 2022 Innovative Housing Strategies Planning Grant. This grant requires a municipal government partnership in order for the project to qualify and may cover planning items associated with construction of affordable housing, affordable housing needs assessments, and other planning documents.

This application will be for $80,000 and will cover a housing needs assessment which would inform both the City and BHA of the City of Brighton’s unique affordable housing needs and strategies to fullfill those needs. It will also fund associated costs with developing the frameworks necessary to implement identified affordable housing strategies. The grant does require a 20% match which is expected to be fully covered through in-kind staff time contributed by both BHA and the City in providing information and technical assistance to the consultant as well as grant administration.
