BACKGROUND
The total cost for the "Cherry Meadows Park Project" is estimated at $1,800,000.00. This project is the combination of both the Adams County grant funding and the City's matching funds. The Adams County Active Grant funding is $600,000.00 (33.3% of total project cost) and that matches the City's cash match of $1,200,000.00 (66.7% of total). This project is for the construction of Cherry Meadows Park. The Council approved the contractor to design the park on its September 6, 2022, City Council Agenda. The park design has been completed and is presently going through the Community Development approval process.
Once the attached grant agreement is approved by Resolution and signed by the City Manager for grant funding by Adams County in the amount of $600,000.00, then the estimated total $1,800,000.00 of the project is funded. The City will proceed with bidding and constructing of the Cherry Meadows Park upon approval by City Council of the attached Resolution.
The City Attorney's Office has reviewed the Agreement and has found it to be acceptable and that the terms are reasonable. The attached Resolution allows the City of Brighton, through the City Council to enter into the Agreement with Adams County and to allow the City Manager to sign and execute the Grant Agreement
