PURPOSE
To provide a report on the activities of the City Attorney’s Office and later to recess into an executive session to discuss pending litigation.
BACKGROUND
The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council and the Municipal Charter sets out the duties of the City Attorney. Much of what attorneys do is protected by the attorney-client privilege and other confidentiality laws. However, the goal of this report is to share with City Council and the public aggregate data reflecting the work performed by the City Attorney’s Office. During the executive session, the City Attorney will provide a review of pending litigation.
