PURPOSE
Requesting City Council's approval of the procurement of 23-008255 Speer Canal Trail by approving the assignment of a task order to Lucero Concrete Company, LLC, a Company that has previously been awarded a Master Price Agreement via the formal bidding process, and approving the resolution giving the City Manager, or designee, authority to sign the contract. Per City Code Section 3-8-180, "After the City Council has approved a master price agreement with an annual not to exceed price, the City Manager may approve an annual extension and any amendment thereto, provided that the contractor has performed the work satisfactorily, all terms and conditions of the contract have been fulfilled, the funds for said extension and amendment have been appropriated, and so long as the dollar amount of said contract extension and amendment is within the authority of the City Manager to approve. The City Manager, at his or her discretion, may take a master price agreement and amendment thereto to the City Council for approval. All extensions and amendments to master price agreements in excess of the authority of the City Manager to approve shall be approved by the City Council."
BACKGROUND
The proposed Speer Canal Trail will run from East 168th Avenue to Bromley East Charter School (Longspur Drive). The two sections associated with this project are the north section (East 168th Avenue to Longs Peak Street) and the south section (East Bridge Street to Longspur Drive). This project is adding a ten-foot concrete trail to create a north-south connection on the east side of Brighton.
