PURPOSE
A Resolution authorizing the City of Brighton to submit to History Colorado - State Historical Fund (SHF) - SHF Grant Application, requesting grant funding in the amount not to exceed $17,500.00, for the "Brighton Subdivision Commercial and Industrial Properties - Historic Surveys Phase 2"; and to authorize the Interim City Manager to sign the Grant Application.
BACKGROUND
The Brighton Historic Preservation Commission, working with the Parks and Recreation Department and Community Development Staff, will apply for grant funding from History Colorado through a SHF Grant for the "Brighton Subdivision Commercial and Industrial Properties - Historic Surveys Phase 2" (Brighton Subdivision Commercial and Industrial Properties) project.
The Brighton Historic Preservation Commission (BHPC) presented the Brighton Historic Resources Survey Plan at a City Council Study Session on September 11, 2012. The City Council approved the Survey Plan on October 2, 2012. The BHPC has completed the Phase 1 in 2014 and Phase 2 in 2016; and History Colorado was pleased with the results.
